December 10, 2022 | 2nd Look Books | Spokane, WA
Went out for lunch with my best friend to a fantastic local restaurant, South Hill Grill. My second time there and it was her first. We had ourselves juicy burgers, clam chowder soup, a simple California sushi roll for appetizer, and mixed drinks to quench our thirst. (Visit: My Google Review)
Then what better idea than to head across the street to a used bookstore, 2nd Look Books. We went straight down to the basement where they have their bargain book section. And we made out like bandits! I scored 14 books for $28. One I bought for $8 because I had $7 on credit so why not splurge and it was a book David has been wanting to read and it was in mint condition.

The books that I specifically bought for filling Little Free Libraries. 3 of them made it into our suitcase for our trip to New Zealand in 2023. (Below)

January 10, 2023 | Lilliput Library | 117 Cotter Avenue, Arrowtown, NZ
Dropped off our first of three books during our 2023 New Zealand travels!
We found out about NZ’s equivalent of Little Free Libraries from the librarians in Arrowtown, NZ. They are called Lilliput Libraries! Now I’m armed with a new website where I can locate them for the remaining two books we have to drop off.
I’ve not been successful in locating libraries via Little Free Libraries app. It may just be the towns that I’m traveling to, or the app not working right, not sure. But wherever and whenever I search it results in no libraries found. In Glenorchy we found a Little Free Libraries with a charter #, but didn’t want to leave a book because the library was always locked even when the general store was open (we tried like 4 times). Really weird. Didn’t ask the store associates why. Locking a little free library just seems to go against it’s very purpose–to be available to all whenever one wonders by.
Why The Seven Husbands to have travel all the way to NZ? Well, it’s a story based in California. It’s written by an author who is currently very well liked. My favorite books of hers remains Daisy Jones and the Six. So, thought it would be a neat one to bring from the US. (The other 2 books were also geographically picked. One is about Washington and the other takes place in Cuba.) Also, combined with the fact of what books I had to take to give away.

Across from this Lilliput Library is a school and it had a sign on one of the buildings in Scrabble blocks which we thought was adorable.

Where is it now?
Would love to know where this book has traveled! See below comment box.
