Went out for lunch with my best friend to a fantastic local restaurant, South Hill Grill. My second time there and it was her first. We had ourselves juicy burgers, clam chowder soup, a simple California sushi roll for appetizer, and mixed drinks to quench our thirst. (Visit: My Google Review.)
Then what better idea than to head across the street to a used bookstore, 2nd Look Books. We went straight down to the basement where they have their bargain book section. And we made out like bandits! I scored 14 books for $28. One I bought for $8 because I had $7 on credit so why not splurge and it was a book David has been wanting to read and it was in mint condition.

David and I were headed to our friends’ house (same best friend as mentioned above) and we just couldn’t help ourselves but stop at the Little Free Library that’s in their neighborhood. Normally, we would visit it while walking our dogs, but this was on a cold evening and we knew neither of us would be motivated to be out and about.
It was perfect timing because we got to meet the owner, Sue. Was great hearing her history about her library and her strategy on filling it up. Guess what? From 2nd Look Books! She has a good selection of books and I had scored a hardcover of Born to Run from her library when she first installed it. That book sits on my shelf at home as it was the 2nd book I read right after Wild that got me back into reading.
On this particular visit we checked out two books and we left two books. Basically, I now ride around town with used books to place in Little Free Libraries. =)
David checked out Island Beneath the Sea by Isabel Allende and checked in Bad Monkey. I checked out The Girl On the Train by Paula Hawkins and checked in this Big Little Lies.
