Vanilla Bean Latte (16 oz)

Used books, delicious coffee, live piano, and a cozy atmosphere. Be still our hearts! If only if we could have sat down then they’d basically have to drag us out of this place. 🙂

Fantastic place to have hung out for a couple of hours and browsed books (and purchased many) and sipped on a Vanilla Bean Latte (splurged with the flavor and it resulted in a delectable dessert).

I’m always puzzled by people who don’t keep books they’ve purchased. But I also adore them cause then I can buy, read, and enjoy them (and keep them until death do me apart from them).

We were in town to eat at our favorite Greek restaurant (which ended up a tad bit of a debacle – for more on that story read about it at Greek Islands Restaurant) and needed a place to shelter from the rain and wind. This bookstore-coffee shop combo absolutely hit the spot. We will definitely be back the next time our adventures take us this way. They had figgy buns and Rosemary sea salt rolls that looked and sounded delicious, but I had to save my appetite for Greek food (silly decision looking at it in hindsight). I’m usually just a plain old latte person, but I was intrigued by “vanilla bean” and the simple syrup they make is much better than the usual coffee shop syrups. I’m happy I splurged and tried it. The foam on top was simply the best I’ve sipped.

Rows upon rows of used books. And this is just one wall! There’s a whole other room with more rows upon rows.
Live Piano Music – created such a wonderful atmosphere – be a fantastic place to return to post COVID
My Vanilla Bean Latte from another angle. The foam seriously was the best I’ve had.
Art of Hearing Heartbeats – First book I decided to take chance on. It had a pretty cover. It had good reviews on Goodreads. It’s not an author I know. It’s not a book I’ve heard of before. At some point it will make it onto my book reviews page and you betcha I’ll use as the photo with it.
Ah. The times. Stupid masks (we are in support, but nonetheless annoying). Normally, right about where David is standing there would be a table to sit at.
The Invisible Bridge – Not a book I purchased, but it was such a coincidence that this was the first book I spotted on the shelf after coming back from the bathroom (you’re welcome for the TMI) and I immediately shared the moment with my friend, Timi, who recommended this book to me. I have started reading it a while ago, but it requires a certain mindset. Someday I may read it. It’s a thick one and for someone who speaks Hungarian it’s weird how that there are Hungarian words mixed in with English and it’s a bit tough for my brain.. It’s a story set in Budapest and about the chain bridge and war time — so it’s a heavy topic one.
Touching My Father’s Soul – Now this! This is a book right up my alley! I’m always all about real stories about mountaineers. They fascinate me. But I have zero aspiration to be one.
Aaaaaall the books we bought. Only two are my picks. I had to hold back cause I’ve got more TBR books on my shelf than I can finish the rest of this year.
